So, some highlights of 2022……
We were delighted to partner with Mike McDonagh, Best Mags Technical Editor, to write this excellent piece on how temperatures affect batteries which was featured in BEST magazine.
Dr Mike McDonagh worked with Shields Technical Director John Perry and took a look at the effect of low temperature on lead-acid battery operation and charging and explains how to compensate for changes in operating temperature.

Salvage Hunters - Classic Cars
We were delighted to be featured on the Quest TV programme ‘Salvage Hunters; Classic cars’ featuring a 1970’s Morris Minor GPO van that Paul Cowland & Drew Pritchard restored to its former glory.
Lincon Batteries part of the Shield Batteries group was filmed for the show, making an original spec Hard Rubber battery for the van and our MD Neil Butterfield featured in the show explaining the process to Paul.

It was a fabulous day where our group MD Neil Butterfield got to meet one of the presenters Paul Cowland who in turn said, “It was awesome working with you guys!”
British Super Bikes
We are super proud to have sponsored Bennetts British Superbike Championship rider Tommy Bridewell again for 2022 and what a fabulous season he had, finishing Third in the British Superbikes Championship. We wish him all the very best with his new team PBM Ducati for 2023.
Powering Santa’s Sleigh
Our Bishops Stortford battery centre (Head Office) was once again absolutely delighted to provide the power to Santa’s Sleigh around Stansted & Bishops Stortford this year. We love getting supporting the Bishops Stortford & Stansted Round Table with the 'Santa Tour' every year, and we know it brought much joy to the local children.
